Restored interior of a 1960s apartment in Thiseio, Athens

Our Thiseio Apartment has been featured on Archisearch.gr. The article looks at how a 90 m² flat from the 1960s was adapted for short-term stays while keeping the feel of a home rather than a hotel room.

Open kitchen viewed from the dining area

The feature focuses on material continuity. Instead of stripping the apartment back, we restored the original parquet and marble floors and made a new palladiana floor from reclaimed marble offcuts.

Open timber wardrobe with hanging rail and woven storage baskets

New work is kept simple: limewashed walls, open wardrobes, microcement bathrooms and kitchen counters, and a built-in bench that serves as both seating and storage. Less visible are the new glazing, insulation and services fitted within the existing structure, which cut operational energy demand by 46% and removed the oil-fired heating.
