About the project
Glyfada Wine Cellar turns a spare basement room into somewhere for storing, opening and drinking wine, without theatricalising the idea of a cellar.
Two wine refrigerators sit within open storage, with a table at the centre of the room for tasting and informal use. New wall linings provide a consistent envelope, while timber veneer, a decorative wall finish and simple pendant lighting make the space feel part of the house rather than a specialist store. Cooling, ventilation and electrical services are coordinated with the fit-out rather than treated separately. It is a small room with a specific job, designed to do it well.
