Fineline Studio’s Athena Residence has been featured in EK Magazine, one of Greece’s leading architectural publications. The article presents the renovation of a 1960s apartment in Kolonaki, completed in 2024 and conceived as a small-scale hospitality project embedded within the dense urban fabric of central Athens.

The feature highlights the project’s strategy of light yet decisive intervention. The original timber flooring was retained and restored, while new bespoke joinery in timber and brass organises the kitchen, storage and wardrobes as fixed architectural elements. Subtle reconfigurations of the layout improve circulation, daylight and flexibility without altering the apartment’s structural logic. Rather than pursuing formal transformation, the design prioritises reuse, spatial clarity and long-term performance.

The magazine also draws attention to the project’s environmental agenda. High-performance glazing, low-energy lighting, photovoltaic provision and the replacement of gas heating with an air-source heat pump reduced operational energy consumption by more than 65%, lifting the apartment’s energy classification from Z to B+.
