The Venetian Villa, Italy

Ongoing Competition Entry: Veneto, Italy

This proposal is currently in development for the adaptive reuse of Villa Meneghetti, a rural estate with layers of history, located near Mirano in the Veneto region.

The brief calls for the transformation of the abandoned 16th-century villa into an agriturismo: a place for slow living, food, and cultural exchange, shaped by the rhythms of the countryside.

Our approach looks to preserve the villa’s architectural identity while introducing new uses and spatial ideas. The brief allows no new buildings, encouraging a careful balance between restraint and invention. Existing façades and interiors can be reworked to support a contemporary rural hospitality programme.

Fineline is developing a design that draws from the site’s agricultural past, responds to the scattered layout of existing structures, and reactivates the outdoor spaces that once connected the villa to its gardens and farmland.
