Athens Riviera Villa
This new-build house in the southern suburbs of Athens is being designed for a private client and their young family.
Now in early-stage design, the proposal sets out a single-storey home arranged around a series of planted courtyards, bringing daylight, ventilation, and greenery into the heart of the plan. Internal spaces are configured to make the most of the site’s orientation and setting, with pitched ceilings and shaded terraces extending the use of each room throughout the year.
The design is characterised by a calm, horizontal composition and a restrained palette of natural materials - limewashed plaster, oak joinery, and local stone - selected for their durability, warmth, and ability to age well over time.
Externally, the low-lying form helps the building sit comfortably within its surroundings, establishing a clear relationship between inside and out.
