Fineline Studio Office, Greece
This project transforms a small, underused shopfront in Glyfada into the working home of Fineline Studio. The intention was not to create a showroom, but a space that reflects how we actually design: testing, refining and making.
At just 25 sqm, the studio operates as both office and workshop. The plan is organised around a full-height material library that acts as a working wall. It holds samples, fragments, mock-ups and objects in constant rotation. Timber, stone, fabric and plaster are placed side by side, compared in natural light and re-evaluated over time. The wall is not decorative. It is a tool.
The street-facing frontage maintains a direct relationship with the city. Rather than isolating the interior, the design embraces the movement and sound of Glyfada, creating a quiet working environment that remains visually connected to its context.
Targeted interventions improved the operational performance of the space. External shading was refined to reduce solar gain while preserving transparency. Cooling systems were upgraded for greater efficiency. The approach was precise rather than extensive, focusing on measurable impact within a modest budget.
The material palette is intentionally restrained and locally sourced where possible. Natural finishes, durable surfaces and calm tonal variation create a focused environment for creative work.
A compact studio shaped by constraint, connected to the street and designed to evolve alongside the practice itself.
